What's New at NAC

(Updated October 2022)

First let’s talk about the newest additions to the NAC Family.

After an exhaustive search for the next Manager of our Machining Department, we have hired Jamie Curtis! Jamie brings with her, to NAC, more than 15 years of supervisory, administrative, and management experience. In addition to a pursuit of a bachelor’s degree, she possesses extensive knowledge in Lean Manufacturing Principals such as Six Sigma (in which she possesses a green belt) and 5-S. We look forward to the improvements that she will make to this department and our continuous improvement program so that we may better serve the customer.

We have expanded our Human Resources Department with the addition of Nolberto Gabriel! Our new Human Resource Assistant, Nolberto, offers a fresh new take in our HR Department with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, 4 years of experience in production, and 1 year of experience in management. Most importantly, Nolberto maintains a lifetime of experience being English-Spanish bilingual. His addition to our team has opened the door to an entirely new market of employees, allowing workers with Spanish as their primary language to join our family without barriers.

Next, we have had a major change within our Accounting Department.

As of July 2022, long-time Controller, Dale Brown, has retired from NAC. Dale served the customer with us for 23 years, operating as our primary accountant, assisting in much of the internal I.T. work, and serving on our Leadership Team.

Former Die Casting Manager, Jennifer Chapman has since been promoted to a brand-new position as NAC’s Accounting Manager. This position includes taking over Dale’s duties of serving as the primary accountant for the company as well as serving on the Leadership Team. She has been with NAC for over 25 years, starting as a die-cast trimmer and climbing the corporate ladder with hard work, determination, and an associate’s degree in Accounting through CCC. We have full confidence that Jennifer will serve her company well in this new role.

Finally, NAC is continuously expanding its facility and its capabilities with multiple projects and upgrades.

In 2021, we purchased the following:

  • A new 125 HP Air compressor with an accompanying air dryer
  • A new Mitutoyo SP25 CNC Scanning Probe and Software Upgrade for the Coordinate Measuring Machine.
  • A new Mark Industries 2000SIP 1KST Realtime X-Ray System
  • A Prince 629 Die Cast Machine newly rebuilt by Buhler-Prince
  • A new Makino a51NX Horizontal CNC Machining Center
  • Two used Brother TC-32A Drilling & Tapping Machines

In 2022, we purchased the following:

  • A new Goff 6 Cubic Feet Shot Blaster
  • A new Almco Parts Washer
  • Two new Die Cast Machine Furnace Ladles
  • Four new Buhler-Prince ProLink Process Controllers for the Prince Die Cast Machine Cells
  • A new Cooling Tower

We also have a new building addition underway! The 5000 square feet addition is being built on the south-eastern corner of our west building, expanding our Die Cast Department. This construction is set to be completed in December and should allow for the removal of the 360 alloy melting furnace from the production area and the implementation of the newly rebuilt die casting machine.

In addition to the implementation of the die casting machine, planned future investment includes a new aluminum breakdown furnace, continued standardization of our die cast machine processors, and a more in-depth training program for our die cast machine operators.

It is also worth noting that we have received our ISO 9001:2015 Continuing Recertification per our recertification audit occurring every three years.
